General Motors introduced the the K5 Blazer in 1969
to compete with the Bronco, Jeeps, Scouts and continued
production thru 1994 when it was replaced by the Tahoe. The full size
sport utility vehicle is based upon the the short wheelbase C/K series
trucks and were available with either rear-wheel or four wheel drive.
The K5 Blazer was "full convertible" with removable tops until 1975. In
1976 the half-cab design was brought fourth. It was less prone to leaks
and slightly safer in a roll-over. These half cabs are convertible
starting at a few inches behind the driver passenger doors all the way
back to the tailgate. With it's rugged truck quality build, an array of power plants
from straight sixes to mighty V8s including the available 6.3 liter diesel engine and
comfortable interior trim packages made it popular for work or play with
individuals, police, rescue and even the military. The 1975 cult classic
Jaws even had chief Brody driving one as his patrol vehicle. Still popular today
with enthusiasts you can find them on the roads, at job-sites and car shows. When you need
